NSW: Queen's birthday stamps to be launched in Sydney

A new set of stamps .. with two famous portraits of the Queen .. are set to be released
in Australia to mark her 80th birthday.

The Australian Monarchist League will unveil the stamps tomorrow at a luncheon .. at
New South Wales Parliament.

A special message from Governor-General MICHAEL JEFFERY .. in which he praises her
as a dignified and impressive leader .. will also be read at the lunch.





Australia Post has issued stamps celebrating the Queen's birthday since 1980.

This year .. one stamp is based on a celebrated portrait of the Queen by Italian artist
PIETRO ANNIGONI.

The other is a reproduction of a famous photographic portrait taken by British photographer
Sir CECIL BEATON.
